• Goalscorer Practice – Finishing from Outside the Box
  • Start 2v1 + a GK. Attacker A passes to the attacker in the box who must use clever movement / body strength / disguise to hold up the ball back to goal and set attacker A for a strike from range.
  • The defender should try to make this as hard as possible and make blocks etc. Encourage quick reps –attacks should not last more than 2-3 passes maximum.
  • Progressions:
  • Make the practice 3v2 – Attacker B and Defender B join in (the defender making a simulated recovery run)
  • Attacker A no longer has to pass to the attacker in the box – they can combine with B to score, however encourage early shooting before Defender B gets back into position
  • Encourage quick combination play to create the earliest possible shooting chance / shooting chance with highest chance of success
