6v6 including GKs – can increase/decrease number of players in middle third or use a magic player if needed.
Players are locked into their thirds. Start unopposed – blue GK starts – they play to their defenders, defenders play into midfielders who combine at match pace to find the blue striker who shoots. 2 balls active at once – the yellows do the same at simultaneously. Repeat the game to work on patterns/combinations.
1 player may break out of their third and support in the next third to create an overload and increase combinations. This is useful for working on team shape – because only 1 player can break out, remaining players must scan, recognise this and keep their shape / position
Reduce to only 1 ball and make the practice opposed. Teams compete to score the most goals following the above rules
Avoid touch / pass restrictions to encourage creativity and individual brilliance – if it is too easy, coach the team out of possession to increase challenge
