• 15 x 15 yard area
  • Need a minimum of 8 players
  • 2v2 in the middle, players aim to pass the ball out to their team, if they do they step out and the receivers step in and try to transfer the ball to the other side.
  • If the opposition win the ball they can pass in whatever direction they want first, then the next 2 players step out and try to transfer the ball forwards to the next two players.
  • You can make the game 3v3 if its too easy, also if you don’t have many players you can have just one target and the man who passes the ball out leaves the central area.
  • Make the competitive and add points, for example for team to 10 points wins.
  • Transferring the ball from one end to the other is worth 1 point, if done with a first time pass it is worth 2 points.
  • You can add rules such as you can pass the ball back to your team but only in 1 touch, players on the outside must step in with their first touch, or simply add the offside rule.
  • This drill builds on passing and receiving skills in tight areas, combination play, angles of support, weight, timing and angles of passes as well as forward movement.
